Confirmed Reservation: (This offer to lease expires 10/03/06)
Mr. John Martin Phone: 206-799-2788 721 Avenue of the Americas E-mail: john@dadslikeme.com Stanford, CT 23456
John;
Thank you for your reservation at Cayman Castle and the Guesthouse. We have your group of up to 12 adults arriving December 10th, 2006 until (departing) December 17th, 2006. Your reservation will be considered "booked" when we receive your deposit of US$ 4,475.00; which covers 50% of your Rental Charge (US$8,950.00). The CI 10% hotel tax is included in your rate. I will hold this reservation for you for 10 days, in order for you to send your lease/deposit. Please print-out/sign/send these documents and deposit (check), made to Grand Cayman Villas & Travel, LLC- 2416 Bell Tower Place, Richmond, VA 23233
The balance (US$ 4,475.00) + US$500.00 Security/Telephone Deposit is due by October 10th, 2006; 60 days prior to your arrival.
1. Once "booked" (paid 50% of Rental Charge ); should you decide to cancel prior to paying the full charge, 25% of the Rental Charge (US$ 2,237.50) will be returned as soon as possible. Should we be able to replace the reservation, the other 25% (US$ 2,237.50) will be forwarded immediately, less any re-booking costs incurred. Should Cayman Castle not be able to replace the reservation, the remaining 25% is forfeited.
2. Once "paid-in-full" (paid 100% of Rental Charge + Security Deposit); should you cancel; every effort will be made to re-lease the property. We will forward the security deposit immediately, and will contact other rental agencies, travel agents, etc. in an effort to re-lease the property. Should we be able to replace the reservation, you will receive 100% of your Rental Charge, less any re-booking charges incurred. Should we not be able to re-lease the property, the entire US$ 8,950.00 will be forfeited; however, 50% of that amount will be credited on a non-assignable basis towards a subsequent available week. This credit will be exercisable for 13 months. We think this feature is both unique and very fair, as rebooking within 60 days is very difficult (air fares, etc.), and most people have already made their vacation plans well in advance. You might consider travel cancellation insurance; please check the internet for providers.
If you have any questions, I would prefer E-mail (info@caymancastle.com), as I will have a record of it.
Acknowledged,
________________
Rental Policies/Safety Warnings:
CHECK-IN TIME: Anytime after 3 PM. Door unlocked, keys will be on the key-rack. If you arrive a little early, please just drop off bags under the stairs and let Sharon or Josephine finish cleaning.
CHECK-OUT TIME: 10 AM (Maids/Pool service must be able to clean properly). Our maid (Sharon) may arrive slightly earlier to begin laundry (next bus is too late). If you can start a load of towels or bed linens, she will appreciate it.
1. Unless stated otherwise, full payment of Rental Charge + Security Deposit is due no later than 60 days prior to occupancy. 2. A strict maximum of 14 people are allowed (by law) to occupy the main residence on an overnight basis. 10 Adults in castle maximum. Guesthouse offers 6 more adults. 3. No pets are allowed. 4. Please do not smoke inside the Castle. The terraces are used by our friends who smoke. Please use a conch shell as an ashtray, and don’t litter the shoreline with cigarette butts. 5. Swimming pools are patently dangerous. Please supervise your children/non-swimming guests. We have a pool alarm and have plenty of Personal Floatation Devices (PFD) in the pool box. CAYMAN CASTLE, LTD. WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ACCIDENTS/INJURY INVOLVING THE POOL. Also, DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SWIM/PLAY IN THE OCEANFRONT COLLECTION TANK. Shouldn’t be a concern, as there is limited access…but the collection tank recycles up to 300 gallons/minute and the suction of the drains in the tanks can cause harm. 6. No outdoor fires are allowed. The Caymans are very strict on this. 7. Please store any charcoal or lighter fluid in the exterior storage area next to front door. 8. Absolutely No Fishing equipment or scuba tanks in the house. 9. Please conserve fresh water. All fresh water on the island is filtered rainwater. Please be mindful of laundry, shower & flushing uses. Additionally, put nothing (inorganic) in the toilet other than tissue paper, as the house uses a septic tank. The same goes for the kitchen sink/disposal. Please try to use the disposal sparingly. Throw food scraps in garbage can, thanks. 10. This island (like all islands) has ants/bugs looking for food; especially sweets. We spray monthly and try to keep “Raid” under the sink, but prevention works better. 11. Please do not rearrange the beds/tables/sofas in the house. Please leave the furniture as you found it. I can’t ask the maids to rearrange/reassemble furniture. 12. Should anything break or not operate, please call the property manager, Thelda Whittaker 947-9266 (work) or 916-5312 (cell). 13. In an emergency, call (H) 804-270-9076 or (W) 804-934-0066.
Grand Cayman Villas & Travel, LLC (GCVT) operates strictly as a marketing/booking agency for rental villas located on Grand Cayman.
GCVT neither owns nor manages individual properties. It is exclusively a booking agency with no liability for any physical or financial injury sustained by guests during their stay. In the (very unlikely) event that a contracted villa is either unavailable or uninhabitable for a guests’ stay (for any reason); GCVT will make extraordinary efforts to obtain similar (or better) accommodations for the guests (subject to their approval). GCVT maintains strong relationships with many on-island managers, owners, villa rental agencies and the Cayman Islands Tourism Department. However, should acceptable accommodations not be found, the limit of financial liability for GCVT will be a prompt, full refund of all monies paid or an alternate stay at the villa (at the choice of the guest). Evacuation due to hurricanes will result in prorated refunds up to the total amount of the rental amount, prorated by # nights stayed.
